The History of JUNO - The Master Timeline

I’m excited to announce the reveal of the JUNO timeline. It’s now visible right here on our World Anvil site. The same place where you can find all of our material laid out in a handy wiki format. Our maps and lore and now our new timeline are much more accessible thanks to this handy site.

Check it out here!

I usually include the same information here on our blog, but in this instance it’s just a bit to clunky to list out here, so please check out our world anvil site to view it. But I can share with you some updates to our sentient races that are also being added to the world Anvil site today. Both the timeline and the Naming Conventions are the creation of Bill Tracy. Thanks Bill!

Naming Conventions

Kuhifadi

  • A Kuhifadi will have a “baby name” given to them at birth. Once they gain adulthood, they take parts of one or multiple progenitor’s names and add it to their own.

  • “Baby Name” syllables:  Ku, Ta, Fu, Fa, Eh, Ha, La, Ma…

  • “Borrowed” syllables: Mwa, Ba, Ra, Hana, Di, Son, Una…

  • Full names: Kumwaba, Fuhanason, Tabadi, Mamwara…

  • Mages disassociate themselves by often adding Uchafumlaji elements to their names and dropping progenitor syllables, symbolizing their “rebirth.”

  • Mage names: Kuzikcho, Tauunloo, Lakiivii, Mawun…

Uchafumlaji

  • Uchafumlaji often need to identify themselves in darkness, in underground tunnels, and over long distances. Their language uses a type of clicking echolocation, and this appears in their names in both high pitched and low resounding utterances.

  • Syllables: Ji, Tcha, Kii, Ca, Uun, Laan, Foo, Zik, Woo, Qi, Gun, Doo, Vii, Wun, Chu…

  • Full names: Tchakiiuunfoo, Jiviikiiwun, Qijidoochu, Viicakiitchoon…

Ngisikaa

  • The Ngisikaa sense of self is a fragile one, stemming from a combination of memories lifting a non-sentient creature to one who can wonder about the universe. Their names are similarly as fragile, and one Ngisikaa may hold many names through hir life, depending on hir current set of memories. Non-sentient Ngisikaa are never named, as any of them may as easily be chosen for uplift as not. Many Ngisikaa names have repeating or mathematical bases to them.

  • Full names: Nanana, Ii, Bebeebeeee, Fooooon, Reaer, Laliiiilal, Binalihaiidafinarija…
