The Real Contributor is YOU!
Ok, we are coming up on it.
The fruition of all of our hard work and efforts to create a world for all of you to create in. We have a map, magic, and creatures. And we have a whole slew of Gods and divine creatures that are about to come out for the setting. I am so thankful for everyone that has agreed to help me out with this project. I’ve also been very lucky to have been able to compensate all of our contributors either through direct commission or through genuine collaboration and pointing all of you fine folks to their own creative endeavors. Are contributors so far have been:
CR Rowenson created our magic system with his new process outlined in his even newer book The Magic System Blueprint which, after a successful crowd funding campaign, is now available for purchase.
Bill Tracy created our three amazing sentient species. Bill is an amazing author, but he’s also publishing now with his new imprint Space Wizard. They’ve just released their first of many new projects to come. A wonderful collection of amazing short stories called Distant Gardens. And they have their first novel our now called Ardulum by author JS Fields.
Our first commissioned artist was Katie Cordy. You can find her art on her website, and I definitely suggest that you commission her for her work if you find you need some art. She was a pleasure to work with and is already hard at work on art for our other two sentient species.
And I’m happy to announce we have two brand new contributors. Brent Lambert and Nick Bright from the really excellent writing podcast Just Keep Writing. I think you will all find a lot of great creativity and fun in all of our Gods and Demons that will coming to JUNO in the next few weeks.
And our latest contributor is someone you know very well. I’m extra excited to announce that YOU can now contribute to the world of JUNO. If you follow this link it will take you to our submission page. A very simple form that allows you to send your pitch for something to add to the world of JUNO. Successful pitches will result in me commissioning you for a blog post of at most 500 words and we will be paying official SFWA rates for these commissions. So that is .08 cents per word. So a 500 word blog post will be paid $40.
The sky is the limit for the scope of these offerings. Create a city. Add a piece of history. Create a character or a tribe, or a whole society, assuming that you can do it in 500 words or less. This is the start of our big public collaborations. We’ll be looking for actual narratives coming up in the following months, so now is a great time to familiarize yourself with the world of JUNO, so that you can get in on the fun.
Anything that you write will still belong to you. Anything we publish, we will only retain rights for that specific publication. Obviously the components of JUNO that have been created are free for everyone to use, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t create your own stories and worldbuilding items for yourself, or even for something that you sell yourself. JUNO is a space for creating things, and not a source of income for me or our official contributors beyond what I or they create for ourselves in the space.
If you have questions feel free to leave a comment or come to the official JUNO discord to discuss it with me. Otherwise, I can’t wait to see what all of you will contribute to the world of JUNO.
