NaNoWriMo - Day 23 figuring out me

It's a tough thing when you realize you've out grown something you love. I love NaNoWriMo but I may have outgrown it. I have felt through this whole month that I have been neglecting my second novel which still needs more revising and fidgeting. I was about half way through that when Nano showed up. I think I need to expand my schedule to include revising.

Which means I'm kinda done with my goal for Novemver. Unless I hit a Saturday where I clear like 10K words I'm going to miss my goal by a lot in order to split time between these activities. And I think I'm ok with that.

I have to accept that I'm serious enough about this writing thing that I need to balance multiple projects now. Hopefully in the future I don't have them competing.

I need to believe that I don't need to take huge breaks between books like I did with my first two novels and can always have something in all the different stages of development. Plus now I can make a new spreadsheet to track progress! Yay Spreadsheets!

So lesson learned. Time to get back to work!
